In the June 2007 issue of K Mag, headlining a story called ROCKSTAR, they said, ” His beats are so advanced that they make rookie producers want to give up, his record sales continue to confound ‘vinyl is dead’ doomsayers, and with a live act that’s touring the world – TC is just irresistible in drum & bass right now.” That was in 2007, people.
TC’s music redefines the verb ‘berserk’ if you are familiar with it. There is absolutely no other way to explain his tracks that come very high in production values, balanced with a mild ‘rock’ vibe, the right vocals and a structure that can pull you out of your senses, even before you realised it. Also known as Tommy Boy, DJ Tom Casswell is a sound craftsman whose music shot to global prominence with release of his debut album, Evolution, was released in 2007 on D-Style Recordings. A school dropout, he immersed ( that would be the right word, we guess) in creating music with a signature of his own immediately, and is said it took him 7 years till Evolution happened, and the rest, they say is DnB history. One of the handful who also collaborates with a live band in production and live concerts, his compositions resonate with the manic energy that can only come from a tightly knit group of bandmates whose ‘sound vision’ is organically interconnected with the front man.
Each of the singles taken from his debut album ‘EVOLUTION’ topped both BBC Radio 1′s national dance chart and BBC 1Xtra’s drum&bass chart, including the seminal ‘Deep‘, ‘Jump‘, ‘Rockstar‘ and ‘Where’s My Money‘.
